The calm between the storms... this shoot was taken on the Saturday between the 2 ridiculous snow storms we got last week. The snow made for gorgeous pics, but made it a little harder to get around. Good thing for Derek's 4 wheel drive! :o) Derek and Lori just got engaged right after Thanksgiving and are planning their big day in April. We had so much fun, even though we couldn't feel our limbs after this shoot. Good times to remember. :o)
Merry Christmas!! (a few days late) :o) I pray that everyone had a wonderful holiday season with family and friends. Well, this post is long overdue...sorry. Anyways, this is Kate. Her family has such a special story and I was honored to help them create the Christmas card they had always hoped to send out. This family is so in love with each other...and especially with this new blessing in their lives. (Kate also has the cutest Christmas dress collection EVER!!)
This weekend I had the awesome privilege to photograph this amazing couple! They are such an inspiration to me- they have an unwavering faith for God and for each other, despite everything that has happened in their life this past year. Check out their blog at http://whenhellomeansgoodbye.blogspot.com to hear their story.
Here is something I am VERY excited about... I am expanding Tsakani Studios to not only include photography, but also fine art. I particularly enjoy painting with oils on canvas, as well as watercoloring. I have a few pieces in the works and am excited to create more. I am also willing to custom paint anything to your color, style, and size preference. Prices vary by size and detail of work. Please contact me for more info! Thanks in advance for your support as I explore new things with Tsakani Studios!
Here are just a few examples of some of my past work.
Another beautiful baby... I just love to see the big personalities such little people can have! Addison was so precious during this shoot- I loved the headband! Here's just a few pics from the shoot.
“Tsakani” (sock-ah-nee) is a word from a traditional African language spoken by the Shangaan people of southeastern Africa.
Translated into English, it means ‘rejoicing’ or ‘happiness.’ This is the mission of Tsakani Studios: to rejoice in the blessings of the Lord and the beauty of His creation. And through using the gifts He’s given me, I hope to portray that beauty the best I can.
Services provided are senior pictures, engagement sessions, family portraits, children, still shots, and more. I enjoy the photojournalistic style of photography, capturing the most authentic emotions in people, but also take a selection of traditionally posed photos as well.
